For your convenience, we are providing information to assist you in making travel arrangements for the 2008 OSEP Project Directors’ Conference. Information is given below about air, train, and ground transportation, as well as local travel to and from the hotel.
The conference will be held at the Wardman Park Marriott Hotel, 2660 Woodley Road, NW, Washington, DC 20008. The dates and times of the conference may be found on the Agenda page.
Travel Information
Discounted Airfare
EWA Travel is a participating travel agency for the 2008 OSEP Project Directors’ Conference. EWA Travel has negotiated a discount with United Airlines of 7-12% on the lowest published fare on tickets purchased 30 days in advance, or 2-7% off all published fares with 30 days. Special "zone fares" are also available for meeting attendees, with potential savings of up to 40% off published fares. EWA will compare the savings on United Airlines with promotional fares for all airlines. As an added benefit, EWA can secure rental car reservations and provides $100,000 complimentary flight insurance on all tickets issued through their office. You will have the option of using United Airlines or another airline, depending on the fare comparisons and your preference. Please note that, although you are responsible for making your own travel arrangements, you are not required to use EWA Travel. This option is provided as a convenience for you.
The discount code is 577BC. The discounts are valid for travel from July 17, 2008 – July 30, 2008. There are three ways to secure the discount:
- Call EWA Travel at 1-800-368-4055, (or 703-522-2626 locally) between 8:30 a.m. and 6:00 p.m. (EST), Monday–Friday, and identify yourself as a meeting attendee. Reservations and fare inquiries can also be obtained through their website http://ewatravel.com/ or via email: arl@ewatravel.com. Reservations will be processed and receipts will be mailed to your home or business. A $35-$45 processing fee will be added to each ticketed reservation.
- Call the United Airlines meeting desk at 1-800-521-4041 between 8:00 a.m. and 10:00 p.m. (EST), Monday–Friday, and advise them of special discount tour code 577BC. This service is available through United Airlines for domestic travelers only.
- Call any authorized United Airlines ticketing agency and have them follow the ticketing instructions from the airlines.
Discounted Train Fare
Amtrak is offering attendees of the 2008 OSEP Project Directors’ Conference a 10% discount off the lowest available fare to Washington, DC, between July 18, 2008 and July 26, 2008. To book your reservation, call Amtrak at 1–800–872–7245 or contact your local travel agent. Please refer to Convention Fare Code X26R-928 when making your reservation. Convention fares cannot be booked via the Internet. This offer is not valid on the Auto Train but is valid with Sleepers, Business Class, or First Class seats with payment of the full applicable accommodation charges. The fare is valid on Metroliner and Acela service for all departures 7 days a week, except for holiday blackouts.

Ground Transportation From Local Airports
Washington/Reagan National Airport (DCA) (approximately 8 miles from the Wardman Park Marriott Hotel)
Metro
Upon arriving at Washington/Reagan National Airport (DCA), follow signs to the Metro. Purchase a Metro fare card, and take the Blue Line train in the direction of Largo Town Center. Disembark at the Metro Center Metro station. Follow signs to the Red Line train in the direction of Shady Grove. Exit at the Woodley Park Zoo/Adams Morgan Metro station, and follow signs to the Woodley Road, NW, & Connecticut Avenue, NW, exit. After you exit from the station, walk 1 block west on Woodley Road, NW, to the hotel at 2660 Woodley Road, NW. Depending on the time of day, the Metro fare from Washington/Reagan National Airport may range up to $2.10 per person.
Depending on the length of your visit and use of the Metro, you may want to purchase a Metrorail farecard (starting at $10) that will give you use of the Metro at any time of the day. Taxicab
Taxicabs are available at the exits of each terminal. Dispatchers are available at the exits to assist passengers. The typical minimum cost for taxi service from Washington/Reagan National Airport to the hotel is approximately $19.
SuperShuttle
SuperShuttle's door-to-door shared van service is available to the hotel. SuperShuttle stops are clearly identified on the Ground Transportation level of the airport. The SuperShuttle costs $12 per person. When arriving at the airport, proceed to the outside curb and contact the SuperShuttle representative. Dulles International Airport (IAD) (approximately 28 miles from the Wardman Park Marriott Hotel)
Metro
Washington Flyer Coach service provides a convenient link between Washington Dulles Airport and the West Falls Church Metro station every 30 minutes. To travel to the hotel using this service, purchase a ticket ($9) from the Ground Transportation Center’s ticket counter, located inside the vestibule of Door 4 on the Arrivals Level. Then board the bus from the Main Terminal at Door 4, located on the Arrivals Level.
When you arrive at the West Falls Church Metro station, purchase a Metro fare card and ride the Orange Line in the direction of New Carrollton. Exit at the Metro Center station, and follow signs to transfer to the Red Line in the direction of Shady Grove.
Get off at the Woodley Park Zoo/Adams Morgan Metro station, and follow signs to the Woodley Road, NW, & Connecticut Avenue, NW exit. After you exit from the station, walk 1 block west on Woodley Road, NW, to the hotel at 2660 Woodley Road, NW. Depending on the time of day, the cost of travel on Metro may range up to $2.80 per person.

Taxicab
The typical minimum cost for taxi service from Dulles Airport to the hotel is approximately $55. Taxi stands are found on the Ground Transportation level of the airport.
SuperShuttle
SuperShuttle’s door-to-door shared van service to the hotel is available. Collect your baggage and follow signs for ground transportation. These signs will lead you directly to the SuperShuttle ticket counters located on the lower level just before exiting the building. This service costs $27 per person. Baltimore Washington International Airport (BWI) (approximately 34 miles from the Wardman Park Marriott Hotel)
Metro
To take the Metro, you will need to take the B30 Express Metrobus that leaves from the airport terminal. The bus costs $3.00 and will drop you off at Greenbelt Metro station on the Green Line. Purchase a Metro fare card, and board the Metro train heading in the direction of Branch Avenue. Disembark at the Fort Totten Metro station, and follow signs to the Red Line in the direction of Shady Grove.
Get off at the Woodley Park Zoo/Adams Morgan Metro station, and follow signs to the Woodley Road, NW, & Connecticut Avenue, NW, exit. After you exit the station, walk 1 block west on Woodley Road, NW, to the hotel at 2660 Woodley Road, NW. Depending on the time of day, the cost of travel on Metro may range up to $3.30 per person for a total of up to $6.30 including the Express Metrobus.
Depending on the length of your visit and use of the Metro, you may want to purchase a Metrorail farecard (starting at $10) that will give you use of the Metro at any time of the day. Taxicab
Taxicabs are located just outside of the Baggage Claim area of the Lower Level of the BWI Airport Terminal. The typical minimum cost for taxi service from BWI to the hotel is approximately $65.

Union Station/Amtrak (approximately 5 miles from the Wardman Park Marriott Hotel)
Metro
To ride the Metro, follow signs to the Metro station, located within Union Station on the lower level. Take the Red Line (the only one available at Union Station) in the direction of Shady Grove. Get off at the Woodley Park Zoo/Adams Morgan Metro station and follow signs to the Woodley Road, NW, and Connecticut Avenue, NW, exit. After you exit the station, walk 1 block west on Woodley Road, NW, to the hotel at 2660 Woodley Road, NW. Depending on the time of day, the cost of travel on Metro may range up to $1.45 per person.

Taxicabs are located in front of Union Station. Fares are approximately $12 from the station to the hotel.

Ground Transportation by Car
For those who are traveling by car, the hotel is located at 2660 Woodley Road, NW, Washington, DC 20008. The Wardman Park Marriott Hotel charges a fee of $28 per day for self-parking. Valet parking is also available for $33.60 per day.
